about me.

i work in many mediums, including painting, photography and mixed media.  nature ties much of my work together, focusing on the hidden secrets of our world.  although the peacefulness of the outdoors drives me, i really can't help but laugh and notice the wildness that exists, both in nature and in our culture.  

photography has given me the opportunity to capture raw moments, which show the humor and curiosity of life.  in addition, painting has allowed me to interpret and conjure the magic that nature possesses.    

my interest in natural objects reflects the swell of emotion that surfaces when one is deep within wild places.  my work is about being engulfed in nature, how musical and tranquil it can be, and seeing many perspectives of landscape at once.  it is about the idea that nature is incredibly beautiful and welcoming but can be almost frightening at the same time.  nature is everything, yet in our world it has become a foreign place.

i am currently living in an awesome old house in albany, ny.  i have two crazy boys and enjoy playing, traveling and making art.
